Q. I got a kindle fire hd for christmas and i want to download free apps, but when i click download it says i have to do this 1 click purchase thing and it needs my credit card number, i don't have a credit card! I just want to download some apps, what do i do?

So you can use Amazon gift card instead, and call Amazon if it still don't allow you to download apps.

A. It's easiest to do this from a computer.
Sign in to her Amazon account that the Kindle is registered to. Go to Manage Account. Find Payment methods and then click on Add a Credit or Debit Card.
Enter the card and you should be good to go.
