What is the difference between an iPad and an iPhone/iPod touch?

Q. To me, the iPad seems just like a giant iPod touch. How are they different? Does the iPad have different capabilities? I already have an iPod touch, so would it be a waste to get an iPad?

A. The iPod touch and iPhone are awesome, whereas the iPad is the spawn of evil and capitalism. If you already have an iPod touch, don't waste your money on an iPad. If you're going to spend that much for what is basically a laptop without flash bred with the iPod touch...you may as well get an actual laptop.

To answer your actual question, the major difference between the iPad and the touch (aside from size) is that you can create documents, charts, and presentations on the iPad...of course you have to pay to download the programs that allow you to do so, but that's apple for you. Granted, you'll have to pay for the equivelent of these programs too if you go for a laptop. Of course, with a laptop, you're far less likely to have to deal with your stupid contraption shutting off and losing all your work because it gets too hot. :|

Sooo....get a friggin laptop.

What is the best ipad case that protects the screen from cracking?
Q. Last night I shattered my ipad screen. Now I've got a new screen and I want to keep it from happening again. Price doesn't matter. Though I am a klutz, so maybe something klutz-proof.

A. Look iPad cases on http://ipadcases.name/

How to update your iPad without deleting anything?
Q. I just updated my iPad and some apps and a few other things were deleted. My email account settings disappeared as well. How to update your iPad without deleting anything?

A. Connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases to your computer's iTunes via

File > Transfer Purchases.

You should also backup the device (right-click the iPad 'device' and select 'back up'), and copy off any important documents, file, notes etc (e.g. by email, the file sharing section at the bottom of the Apps tab in iTunes, wifi, whatever the apps that you use support) - the update process should backup and restore the content but it's best to be safe and try and minimise any data/content loss if the update doesn't go smoothly.
